We Lost Our Dear Sister Janet Fogg

April 4, 23 we lost our dear Sister of the Quill, an exceptional woman who walked this earth, one who offered up more than she ever took for herself.
Janet Fogg.

A couple of dozen years as part of our small Sisters of the Quill, she was a talented, stalwart partner in many literary challenges.

I met her first at the CO Gold Conference in 1996(?) And not long after, she joined Julie Kaewert and me for a weekly author lunch. Later Shannon Baker joined us. We became the Sisters of the Quill. We ate, wrote, critiqued, supported, advised, and loved our ways to success.
The goals and journey for Janet, most often involved making a dream come true for someone else, telling important stories on behalf of others. She added creative spice with her brilliant Sci-fi and fantasy. She was a fearless pioneer of technology, an early adopter of e-books and a valuable beta for Amazon's Vella.
She was the definition of an award-winning author. I was lucky to have collaborated with her on several screenplays. Her talent for organization, motivation, and evaluation contributed greatly to us having the privilege of having our works recognized in contests from Southwest, Pikes Peak, Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers, Blue Cat, Page Awards, and more. I will always cherish the photographs on my study wall taken with her and famous authors as we received awards.
She helped make me a better writer with her steady, loving guidance. Those were also the traits, she contributed to Boulder's wildly successful Oz Architecture.
She was gracious, elegant, honest, principled, and generous. Those of us who were lucky enough to know her, witnessed a monument of integrity, love, and laudible involvement in all things she found important in our world.
She cherished her sister and all of her family. And most important: she loved her husband, Dick, more than anything on this earth and beyond. That love was transcendent.

We will miss her always.
